Job summary

WVU Medicine is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee operation of lab services across assigned areas, supervise personnel, and manage day-to-day workflow to support high-quality patient care.

The role requires a MLS/MLT degree with licensure and at least four years of relevant laboratory experience. Strong leadership, communication, and adherence to SOPs are essential for coordinating staff and resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field, or an associated degree with appropriate licensure.
• Current state licensure where required (WV/PA/OH/MD as applicable).
• Four years’ experience as a Medical Technologist, MLT, Histotechnologist or Cytotechnologist.

Responsibilities

• Supervise lab areas and ensure adequate staffing and patient care.
• Participate in staff orientation and performance evaluations.
• Coordinate specimen flow to reference labs and ensure timely results.
• Manage downtime with LIS and laboratory staff per SOPs.
• Operate and supervise lab equipment and ensure compliance with policies.
