Responsibilities

• Dispense requests and maintain accurate inventory records for reagents and materials.

• Ensure proper packaging, labeling, documentation, and regulatory compliance for shipments.
• Maintain shipment records and tracking information.
• Prepare shipping documents and assist with permits for shipments of reference standards.

Position Title: Laboratory Operations Specialist

Work Location: Ridgefield, CT 06877

Assignment Duration: 12 Months

Work Arrangement: Onsite

Position Summary:

• We are seeking a motivated Specialist to join the Bioanalysis group in Drug Metabolism/Pharmacokinetics (BA-DMPK) department in Ridgefield, CT.
• In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams within DMPK to support the dispensing, tracking, storage, and shipment of reagents and materials used in bioanalytical assays for nonclinical and clinical studies.

• The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, work independently with minimal supervision, and maintain a high level of accuracy and organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fulfill material dispensing requests and maintain accurate inventory records for reagents, reference standards, matrices, and other laboratory materials.
• Support freezer organization, space management, and periodic inventory verification activities.
• Maintain inventory databases, spreadsheets, and electronic tracking systems.
• Coordinate domestic and international shipments of reagents, matrices, reference standards, and other laboratory materials.
• Ensure proper packaging, labeling, documentation, and regulatory compliance for all shipments.
• Maintain shipment records, tracking information, and related databases.
• Complete shipping documentation and assist with applications and renewals for permits related to the shipment and clearance of reference standards and biological materials.
• Work effectively with cross-functional teams in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment.
• Demonstrate strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Communicate with internal customers and external vendors regarding dispensing requests, shipment status, and logistics requirements.
• Perform all work in compliance with applicable regulations, SOPs, and our organization policies.
• Ensure the safe handling, storage, and shipment of laboratory materials.
• Take ownership of assigned responsibilities and proactively address urgent tasks and operational challenges.
• May be assigned additional responsibilities (e.g., equipment maintenance, freezer management, etc.) under the direction of Bioanalysis/DMPK Management.

Qualification & Experience:

• Required: BS degree in a related discipline.
• Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree
• Experience working in a laboratory, inventory management, logistics, or operational support environment.
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Preferred: Prior experience with laboratory inventory management.
• Experience coordinating domestic and international shipments.
• Experience using inventory tracking systems or other laboratory software tools.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently while following established procedures and guidelines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Outlook.
• Excellent teamwork and customer-service mindset.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

• Ability to occasionally lift and move freezer racks, containers, or boxes weighing approximately 20-35 pounds.
• Ability to retrieve materials from upper freezer shelves.
