Job summary

Huntsville Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead the lab staff, ensure CLIA compliance, and oversee administrative and financial functions. You will prepare budgets and support capital project decisions, while maintaining accreditation and quality control across departments.

In this role you will supervise personnel, coordinate reporting, and participate in hospital-wide administrative activities to drive high standards of laboratory service.

Qualifications

• Minimum: B.S. degree in Medical Technology or related science and 4 years in high complexity testing.
• ASCP certification preferred.
• Competency across chemistry, serology, hematology, coagulation and blood bank.
• Strong leadership and staff supervision capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Immediate supervisor to laboratory staff for issues related to lab processes.
• Assures that the Laboratory is CLIA certified and meets CLIA regulations.
• Under the direction of the Lab Manager, manages the department's administrative and financial functions.
• Prepares operating budgets and recommends capital budgets.
• Recommends department equipment and supplies and oversees procurement.
• Responsible for accreditation with Joint Commission and other agencies.
• Oversees reporting, payroll records, and statistical data collection.
• Maintains records, reports, and documentation; ensures accurate test procedures.
• Participates in facility renovations and new project implementations.
• Ensures performance improvement reports and staff competency assessments.
