Job summary

UVA Health seeks a Laboratory Manager, Cancer Clinics to lead operations across three Cancer Center laboratories, including the Emily Couric Cancer Center and two new sites in Fishersville and Pantops.

The role demands building cohesive teams, driving continuous quality improvement, and ensuring regulatory compliance to deliver exceptional patient care while guiding startup and expansion efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with completion of a NAACLS approved MLS/CLS/HTL or equivalent program.
• Experience supervising laboratory personnel and operations in a complex health environment.
• Demonstrated laboratory leadership experience.
• Strong project management and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of laboratory operations across three outpatient cancer center laboratories.
• Lead startup planning, implementation, and readiness activities for new laboratory locations.
• Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop laboratory personnel; manage staffing and performance.
• Collaborate with Oncology Service Line leaders and key laboratory stakeholders; ensure regulatory and quality standards.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
