Job summary
Atlas is seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead laboratory testing operations in our Lakewood office. You will manage staff, oversee asphalt, soil, aggregate, and concrete testing programs, develop mix designs, and ensure quality and safety compliance while supporting client-focused solutions.
You will coordinate scheduling for up to 10 staff, maintain AMRL and CCRL accreditations, and work closely with the Area Manager, Project Managers and Quality Manager to drive continuous improvement in
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in construction materials testing or geotechnical fields
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical/Geological disciplines desirable (not required)
- Minimum 5+ years staff management experience
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Familiar with ASTM, ACI, AASHTO and CDOT codes
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings/reports
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds daily
Responsibilities
- Lead daily staff and coordinate laboratory testing services in Lakewood
- Develop asphalt, soil, aggregate and concrete testing schedules and mix designs
- Provide client-focused reports and communicate service needs
- Troubleshoot field and laboratory testing equipment and methods
- Ensure AMRL and CCRL accreditations are maintained on schedule
- Calibrate equipment and implement the Quality Management System
