Job summary

Atlas is seeking a Lab Quality Manager in the US to lead the Quality Management System for a Geo and CMT laboratory. You will perform independent QA/QC of test and inspection reports and ensure testing, calibration, and reporting align with accreditation standards.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of relevant lab experience with quality management systems and accreditation processes (AMRL, AASHTO, CCRL, or state DOT).
• Certificates in QC/QA or lab testing are a plus (ACI, TxDOT).
• Familiarity with TxDOT, ASTM, and AASHTO testing standards and reporting systems.
• Proficiency with construction materials testing report management tools (e.g., Metafield) and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and directs lab personnel in testing procedures and equipment use per approved methods.
• Develops and maintains the lab's Quality Management System and ensures ASTM/AASHTO compliance.
• Performs independent QA/QC of soils, concrete, asphalt, and aggregate reports prior to client submission.
• Collaborates with Lab Manager, PM/CMT Engineer, and Scheduling to align quality with deadlines and contracts.
• Conducts internal audits and tracks corrective actions; analyzes data trends for improvements.
• Owns accreditation strategy and prepares for external audits; acts as primary contact during reviews.
• Provides quality-focused training and ensures competency in testing standards and documentation.
• Serves as backup for Lab Manager and supports project administration and testing scheduling.
