Job summary

NV5 is seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to oversee the daily operations of our construction materials and geotechnical testing laboratory in Florida. The role includes managing lab staff, ensuring testing is performed accurately and on schedule, and supporting project teams with reporting and client service.

Responsibilities include testing soils, aggregates, concrete and asphalt, maintaining the Health & Safety program, arranging equipment maintenance, training staff, and preparing

Qualifications

• 5+ years of laboratory testing and supervisory experience.
• Experience testing and reporting FDOT and CMEC samples is a plus.
• Experience with civil construction testing standards and FDOT/USACE methods.
• Proficient in Word and Excel; familiar with Quality Management Systems.
• Experience as Radiation Safety Officer or in safety program adherence.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of NV5’s construction materials & geotechnical testing laboratory.
• Manage lab staff, ensure testing accuracy and on-schedule delivery; maintain compliance with ASTM/AASHTO/FDOT/USACE standards.
• Prepare and distribute laboratory testing reports; liaise with geotechnical teams and clients.
• Train and mentor laboratory staff; track training records; uphold Health & Safety program.
