Baptist Health Princeton Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Coordinator to oversee daily operations in an assigned laboratory section. The role requires managing workflow, coordinating with sections, and ensuring timely, high-quality test results.

The position emphasizes bench testing up to 60% of the time, quality control, and staff coordination under the direction of the manager and medical director.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Three years hospital laboratory experience.
• Maintains Alabama license(s) if required for area of responsibility.
• Certified by a professional laboratory certification agency, i.e. ASCP or eligible, if required for area of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates workflow in the laboratory and coordinates with sections to ensure service delivery is met.
• Regularly communicates with manager on day to day operations.
• Understands the role and function of all laboratory areas and fulfills tech in charge as required.
• Assumes bench responsibilities and performs testing at least 60% of the time.
• Performs, reports, and documents all quality control, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.
• Monitors testing processes to ensure performance and takes corrective action when needed.
• Evaluates team competency and maintains records.
• Leads departmental meetings and provides laboratory education as needed.
