Job summary

Mission Hospital McDowell, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Laboratory Manager to lead and oversee the clinical laboratory operations. The role emphasizes staff development, quality improvement, and compliance with regulatory requirements, in a hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related fields, a master's degree preferred, and national certification as a Medical Technologist, with several years of supervisory and management experience

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience at a supervisory level in a clinical laboratory setting
• National Certification as a Medical Technologist required
• 3+ years of progressive laboratory management experience is required with complex laboratory operations
• Hospital clinical laboratory experience preferred
• This role requires you to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 based on local, state and /or federal law or regulations (unless a medical or religious exemption is approved)

Responsibilities

• Lead and monitor employees, departmental performance and staff development to ensure adherence to policies and procedures, timelines and regulatory requirements
• Develop monitoring systems for the collection, documentation and reporting of quality assessment and improvement data; extracts pertinent information from quality assessment and improvement studies, initiates corrective action plans, and re-monitors results
• Evaluate existing systems and processes and develops corrective action plans for service/quality trends identified Initiates changes and monitors for improvement
• Ensure departments proactively respond to feedback from customers (internal and external) and implements improvement mechanisms to enhance the overall ability of the department to meet the customer's needs for laboratory services
