Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology or related fields.
• Three years progressively more responsible management experience in an acute care facility with at least one year of frequent involvement with senior management, physicians, other health care providers, and external providers and purchasers.
• Master's degree in medical technology, business administration or health services administration preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plans and administers the effective management and delivery of diagnostic laboratory procedures in accordance with all hospital, system and regulatory standards.
• Ensures quality, financial, and customer service objectives are met.
• Develops and administers capital and operating budgets and monitors adherence to budgets.
• Serves as technical resource to subordinates in resolving complex problems and investigating corrective actions.
• Reviews and approves department equipment modifications, new supplies, and minor purchases.
• Recommends and secures approval of major capital expense items initiating bidding process with vendors.
