Job summary

HCA Healthcare's Trident Hospital in Charleston, SC seeks an experienced Laboratory Manager to lead the laboratory operations, ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality patient care. The role requires directing staffing, budgeting, and program development with a focus on safety and accuracy.

You will develop staff, drive performance, and partner with Laboratory Services and Supply Chain to optimize resources, while enforcing CAP/JCAHO/CLIA/FDA/CMS standards and policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biomedical Science, Biology or Chemistry.
• National Certification as a Medical Technologist is required.
• 3+ years of progressive laboratory management experience.
• Hospital clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs operations to meet regulatory requirements and drive innovation.
• Ensures staffing needs with timely hiring, orientation and training.
• Develops staff through coaching and regular feedback.
• Manages department strategies for service, quality, compliance and finances.
• Oversees the laboratory budget and monthly financial reporting.
• Ensures CAP, JCAHO, CLIA, FDA and CMS compliance with policies.
• Manages vendor relationships and supply contracts with guidance from LSL.
• Delivers clear internal communications and solicits staff input.
