Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking a Laboratory Manager for its Rollinsford, NH location. The role oversees lab operations, ensures safe practices, and coordinates complex sample analysis to determine chemical and physical properties.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related science and 5+ years in a lab setting, with supervisory experience preferred. OSHA and DOT training are viewed favorably, and benefits include health coverage and 401K matching.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science or a related science highly preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in a laboratory setting.
• Prior supervisory experience (2+) is preferred.
• Experience with QA/QC, Lab certification and production required.
• 3+ years leading a NELAC/ISO certified program in a chemical lab setting preferred.
• Working knowledge of ICP, IC, and other laboratory instrumentation required.
• 24- or 40-hour OSHA training; DOT training preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and effective communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner always.
• Maintain a safe work environment that follows all state, federal and company regulations.
• Performs complex analysis of samples following prescribed procedures with the ability to solve problems.
• Maintains equipment, including outside vendor scheduling per maintenance contract schedules and suggests solutions to equipment problems and new/replacement laboratory equipment.
• Completes all paperwork associated with the analysis in a neat and timely fashion.
• Ensures that all work meets applicable QA/QC guidelines.
