Job summary

Coastal Gulf & International, Inc. is seeking a Lab Manager to oversee all laboratory operations at a designated site, including personnel, testing, quality standards and safety.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related science and a minimum of five years’ lab leadership experience, preferably in the oil, gas or petrochemical sectors. Strong ASTM knowledge and LIMS experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry or related science; 5+ years of directly transferable lab experience.
• Minimum of five (5) years managing a staff in a laboratory setting.
• Oil, Gas, and Chemical industry experience preferred.
• Proficient in ASTM standards.
• Laboratory information management system (LIMS) experience preferred.
• Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Access.

Responsibilities

• Oversee laboratory testing and determine chemical/physical characteristics of samples.
• Manage laboratory personnel operations and safety at the location.
• Ensure quality control of laboratory solutions and standards.
• Receive orders, follow job progress, and report status to clients.
• Maintain laboratory equipment and readiness to service customer requirements.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting of laboratory results.
