Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a laboratory supervisor to oversee general and technical laboratory services, ensuring accurate test completion and quality control. The role includes leading troubleshooting efforts, mentoring staff, and coordinating schedule and training for new personnel.

Ideal candidates will have an Associates Degree in MLT, MLT certification with 5 years of experience, and MT certification with at least two years of experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) required.
• MLT Certification with 5 years of experience required.
• MT Certification with at least two years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide general and technical supervision over laboratory services ensuring accurate completion of tests.
• Analyze and correct problems with technical testing involving methods and instrumentation.
• Serve as working lead tech troubleshooting issues and assisting with assignments.
• Inventory and order laboratory supplies and materials.
• Oversee orientation and training of new personnel.
• Monitor the accuracy of test methods and instruments in the lab.
• Schedule laboratory staff and provide input for performance evaluations.
• Review and implement laboratory Quality Assurance programs.
• Order, submit, and document proficiency testing.
