Job summary

Advocate Health seeks a Medical Laboratory Scientist to perform, evaluate and monitor laboratory tests, ensuring results are accurate and reported per policy. You will calibrate and maintain instruments, participate in QA/QC, and support staff with training and protocol development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Sciences.
• Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field.
• ASCP MLS/MT or AMT MT certification must be obtained within 1 year.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform, evaluate, and monitor laboratory tests and adjust workflow to complete work on time.
• Evaluate results for clinical significance and report per policy.
• Calibrate, maintain, and repair instruments; recognize malfunctions and correct as needed.
• Provide QA/QC reviews and implement corrective actions.
• Label and collect specimens per protocol across age groups.
