Job summary

Vista Defense Technologies, LLC is seeking a Laboratory System Administrator in Jacksonville, FL to support LIS, EHR integration, and hospital IT operations. The role requires ongoing maintenance of LIS, middleware, and connected lab devices, ensuring secure data transmission and regulatory compliance.

You will work with clinical engineering, vendors, and hospital teams to ensure smooth deployments, fault resolution, and accurate documentation of changes and training materials.

Qualifications

• Five years of system administration experience.
• Strong communication and multitasking skills.
• CompTIA Security+ CE certification (in CEP); EMR knowledge; MHS Genesis a plus.

Responsibilities

• Install and configure LIS, middleware, and related software with EHR, RALS, and PACS.
• Set up lab hardware and network devices per manufacturer specs and hospital IT standards.
• Coordinate with vendors and biomedical teams during setup and validation.
• Perform system acceptance testing and document results.
• Maintain uptime with redundancy and backup procedures.
• Provide Tier 1/2 support to lab personnel; escalate as needed.
• Enforce cybersecurity protocols and DoD/DHA compliance.
• Track licenses, warranties, and asset inventories.
• Document changes and training sessions.
