Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2-4 years of troubleshooting and repairing electronic or electro-mechanical equipment, preferably in a laboratory or scientific instrument environment.
• Strong understanding of electronic circuits, schematics, and diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes).
• Proficiency in using hand tools and specialized repair equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Basic computer skills, including experience with service management software.
• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Valid driver's license may be required for occasional field service support.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing and component-level troubleshooting on complex scientific instruments.
• Execute repairs, calibrations, and preventative maintenance according to established procedures and manufacturer specifications.
• Document all repair activities, including parts used, time spent, and resolutions, accurately in the company's service management system.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to all safety protocols and quality standards.
• Collaborate with other technicians, engineers, and customer service teams to resolve technical issues and improve repair processes.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers as needed.
• Manage spare parts inventory and requisitions for repairs.
• Stay up-to-date with new product releases, service manuals, and technical training.
