Job summary

Laboratory Coordinator - Pathology Laboratory at Penn State Health Holy Spirit Medical Center oversees the daily collection and delivery of all specimens entering the lab and ensures adequate staffing across all areas served.

In addition to the responsibilities outlined in the Phlebotomist job description, this role involves daily oversight of the collection and delivery of all specimens entering the laboratory. The individual ensures adequate staff coverage in all areas served by the laboratory and assists in the selection and onboarding of new employees. They play a key role in the education and training of both phlebotomy team. As a resource for problem-solving, this person also facilitates communication between laboratory staff and other healthcare providers. Furthermore, they offer expertise in all pre-analytical laboratory processes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Three (3) years of phlebotomy experience in a clinical laboratory.
