Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Execute molecular biology workflows including library construction and sample preparation.
• Perform FACS/flow cytometry characterization and handoff to sequencing.
• Conduct bench experiments and troubleshoot as needed, documenting results.

Job Description

Aptask Global Workforce (AGW) is seeking a Laboratory Associate for an Onsite position with a Global Biotechnology Company located in Thousand Oaks, CA. This is a 36+ month contract opportunity.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career, hands-on laboratory professional to support routine bench work, molecular biology experiments, and cell/tissue culture activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong scientific foundation, practical laboratory experience, and an interest in developing their skills in a collaborative research environment.

Responsibilities:

• Execute molecular biology and display workflows, including library construction, bacterial and yeast culture, and sample preparation


• Perform display selections and FACS/flow cytometry characterization, and handoff to sequencing


• Independently execute assigned experiments within established workflows


• Troubleshoot technical issues, document, and communicate results

Requirements:

• Master's degree OR Bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience OR Associate's degree and 4 years of experience OR High school diploma/GED and 6 years of experience


• Approximately 1-2 years of practical, hands-on bench laboratory experience (academic, university research, or industry)


• Practical hands-on experience with basic molecular biology laboratory techniques, including PCR, DNA ligation, and transformation


• Experience with hands‑on cell culture and/or tissue culture


• Must be comfortable performing bench‑level scientific experiments


• This role is not suitable for PhD-level candidates

Pay range: up to $28.10 per hour
