Job summary

Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital is seeking a Laboratory Assistant PRN to support a range of laboratory sections under supervision. The role involves phlebotomy and handling procedures across Chemistry, Urinalysis, Serology, Microbiology and Hematology, with CLIA-compliant processes.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, and certification as a laboratory assistant is preferred. Experience in phlebotomy with diverse patient groups is valued, along with strong communication

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy experience is a plus, including draws from neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
• Moderate knowledge of medical terminology is expected.

Laboratory Assistant PRN

Reports to: Laboratory Supervisor, Laboratory Director, Chief Laboratory Technologist, Medical Laboratory Technologists, Medical Laboratory Technician.

Primary Function: Under the general supervision of the supervisor, the laboratory assistant performs certain laboratory procedures in phlebotomy, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Serology, Microbiology and Hematology. These procedures exclude any which are performed only by licensed personnel under state or national license regulations.

Qualifications

Qualifications: Prefer a high school graduate or equivalent. Certification as a laboratory assistant preferred. Experience as a phlebotomist; drawing neonates, pediatrics, adults and geriatrics a plus. Need to have moderate knowledge of medical terminology, and excellent verbal, written and communication skills. Qualifies in accordance with Federal Register (CLIA 88) part 493, subpart M, Personnel Qualifications.
