Job summary

Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater, TX is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to perform phlebotomy and routine lab procedures under supervision. The role supports Chemistry, Urinalysis, Serology, Microbiology and Hematology while adhering to CLIA qualifications.

Preferred candidates are high school graduates with phlebotomy experience, familiarity with medical terminology, and strong communication skills. Certification as a laboratory assistant is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Prefer a high school graduate or equivalent.
• Certification as a laboratory assistant preferred.
• Experience as a phlebotomist; drawing neonates, pediatrics, adults and geriatrics a plus.
• Need to have moderate knowledge of medical terminology, and excellent verbal, written and communication skills.
• Qualifies in accordance with Federal Register (CLIA 88) part 493, subpart M, Personnel Qualifications.

• Reports to: Laboratory Supervisor, Laboratory Director, Chief Laboratory Technologist, Medical Laboratory Technologists, Medical Laboratory Technician
