Job Opportunity: Laboratory Assistant (Contract to Potential Permanent)

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, 9:00 AM - 7:30 PM (4 x 10-hour shifts)

Projected Duration: 3 months with potential for permanent placement

Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Job Description:

A Lab Assistant will work in a high-volume, production-based environment, performing essential tasks in clinical lab science. Responsibilities include:

1. Receiving and sorting clinical lab specimens
2. Preparing specimens for testing and analysis
3. Scanning and data entry of specimen and patient information
4. Ensuring all lab equipment functions properly and performing minor maintenance
5. Troubleshooting specimen-related issues
6. Replenishing test bench supplies as needed
7. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
8. Completing record logs and administrative duties
9. Following Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous medical, lab, or production experience preferred
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Ability to accurately identify specimens
• Basic computer and data entry skills
• High attention to detail with multitasking ability
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
• Must pass a color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
