Job Opportunity: Laboratory Assistant (Contract to Potential Permanent)

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Schedule: Mon-Thursday, 9 AM - 7:30 PM (4 x 10-hour shifts)

Duration: 3 months with potential for permanent position

Pay Rate: $17 per hour

Job Description:

A Lab Assistant will work in a high-volume, production-based environment performing essential clinical lab tasks. Responsibilities include:

1. Receiving and sorting clinical lab specimens
2. Preparing specimens for testing and analysis
3. Scanning and/or data entry of specimen and patient information
4. Ensuring lab equipment functions properly and performing minor maintenance
5. Troubleshooting specimen-related issues
6. Replenishing test bench supplies as needed
7. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment
8. Completing record logs and administrative duties
9. Following Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous medical/lab or production experience preferred
• Comfortable handling biological specimens
• Accurate specimen identification skills
• Basic computer and data entry skills
• Attention to detail, ability to prioritize and multitask
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet turnaround times
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods
• Must pass a standardized color blindness test
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
