Job summary

AdventHealth Altamonte Springs is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform phlebotomy, prepare specimens, and support routine lab operations. You will handle patient data, assist with cultures, and ensure safety and quality in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The role requires basic computer skills, attention to detail, and excellent customer service. Shift includes early hours, with weekend rotation, within a comprehensive healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy training preferred.
• Technical or vocational training related to laboratory work preferred.

Responsibilities

• Shift: Mon-Fri 2:30 AM–11:00 AM with every 3rd weekend.
• Collect patient, physician, and test order information.
• Perform phlebotomy and blood specimen collection as assigned.
• Prepare and set up primary specimen cultures.
• Clean, disinfect, and maintain laboratory equipment and spaces.
• Support performance improvement activities and evaluate new equipment/procedures.
• Adhere to safety policies and PPE usage; manage hazardous materials.
• Handle patient data with confidentiality and accuracy.
