Job summary

AtlantiCare is seeking a Lab Assistant I to support efficient laboratory operations, including collection, handling and preparation of specimens. You will verify and label samples, prepare slides, and help maintain supplies while upholding quality patient care.

The role may involve blood collection per procedures, contributing to performance improvement and team cooperation within the lab. Part-time schedule with lab environment exposure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; bachelor's degree preferred for histology/cytology.
• ASCP/Phlebotomy certification preferred; CEUs required for incumbents.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and LAB systems expected after training.

Responsibilities

• Assist collection, handling and preparation of specimens for testing.
• Verify and label specimens; transport specimens to appropriate areas.
• Prepare slides and maintain necessary supplies.
• Support quality patient care and teamwork in the lab.
