The role you’ll contribute:

The Laboratory Assistant II performs various laboratory support procedures in assigned areas, including phlebotomy and specimen processing in clinical and anatomical pathology areas. The role requires meeting ongoing education and department-specific requirements. Work involves practical knowledge of laboratory procedures and support functions.

• Maintain workspaces in a neat, organized, and properly supplied manner; properly store documentation and paperwork.
• Perform post-analytical activities related to laboratory testing to support the department.
• Assist with support activities such as answering phones, clerical, and receptionist duties.
• Assist laboratory management with special projects as assigned.
• Provide technical and support information related to laboratory testing for all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Six months of relevant healthcare experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification if required by the facility.
• Driver's License if required by the facility.
