Responsibilities

• Assist with a variety of laboratory procedures, including receiving, preparing, and performing tests as allowed.
• Practice positive patient identification and maintain good communication with patients and staff.
• Support department workflow, teamwork, and collaboration.
• Process specimens, organize samples for testing, and handle laboratory send-out testing.
• Evaluate and release test results under supervision, considering quality control and specimen integrity.
• May perform phlebotomy following proper procedures and assist in training.
• Perform routine maintenance on lab equipment and monitor supply inventory.

Qualifications

Required

• High School Diploma or GED
• BLS-CPR certification within 90 days of hire
• Excellent customer service and time management skills

Preferred

• 6 months experience in an acute care facility
• Lab Assistant and/or Phlebotomy certification
