Laboratory Assistant - Internal Medicine Associates
Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80304

Salary: $19.00 - $26.38 per hour - Full-Time Days, 40 hours per week

Boulder Community Health is seeking a Laboratory Assistant for Internal Medicine Associates (IMA). The laboratory support staff at IMA are responsible for processing patient orders, including patient relations (adult and pediatric), specimen procurement, specimen processing, and transmission of results. Additional responsibilities include customer service, utilization of various computer systems, clerical duties, and some technical procedures such as phlebotomy (venipuncture or capillary puncture), drug screen collection, and breath alcohol testing. All new support staff employees will start as Level 1 support staff.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or higher education required
  • Six months of general hospital experience, or
  • Graduation from a Medical Assistants program, or
  • Graduation from a laboratory training program preferred

Responsibilities:

  • Collection and processing of laboratory specimens
  • Performing phlebotomy procedures as required
  • Accurate data entry and reporting
  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Performing laboratory testing, reporting results, and quality control in assigned areas
  • Urine Drug Screen collection
  • Breath Alcohol testing
  • Rapid Strep tests
