Job summary

EMSL Analytical, Inc. in Denver, CO is seeking a Laboratory Analyst (Microbiology) to perform preparation and analysis of microbiological samples (air, water, and bulk materials) and generate reports.

You will work with microscopes, culture-based methods, and data entry into the LIMS system. No prior laboratory experience is required as on-the-job training is provided; the schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in life sciences (biology or microbiology) required.
• Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
• Laboratory experience is a plus.
• Experience with culture-based microbiology and microscopy is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Preparation and analysis of microbiological samples (air, water, and bulk materials).
• Apply classical and advanced methods for microbial and bio-aerosol analysis.
• Generate analytical reports and enter data into the LIMS system.
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed.
• Perform quality control per QA/QC manual.
• Administrative duties including data entry and report distribution.

Job Details

Job Location: Denver, CO 80204Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $21.00 - $21.00 HourlyEMSL is seeking a Laboratory Analyst (Microbiology) in Denver. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Preparation and analysis of Microbiological samples (air, water, and bulk materials) for fungi and bacteria
• Classical and advanced methods for microbial and bio-aerosol analysis
• Generate analytical reports and enter data into the LIMS system
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
• Perform quality control practices per company Quality Assurance/Quality Control manual
• Administrative duties including sample login and data entry, scanning and emailing reports and answering phones
• Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager

QualificationsRequirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Life Science is required, preferably in Biology or Microbiology
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely and without restriction or sponsorship
• Laboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plus
• Experience with spore traps, direct microscopic exam, other culture-based microbiology, bacteriology, or mycology is a plus
• Ability to work with phase contrast and light microscopes, analytical balances, biological safety cabinets, filtration manifolds, and adhere to sterile techniques and good lab practices
• Ability to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis
• Ability to work independently, and as a part of a team, self-motivated, adaptability, and a positive attitude
• Effective time management organizational skills, and ability to multi- task and prioritize with minimal assistance

Available shift:

Positions is full-time time Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
