Job summary

EMSL Analytical, Inc. in Orlando, FL is seeking a Laboratory Analyst (Microbiology) to join our team. This full-time, on-site role offers on-the-job training with no prior laboratory experience required, and a pay rate of $20.00 per hour.

You will prepare and analyze samples for fungi and bacteria, document results in the LIMS, and support QA/QC and daily lab operations. Required is a Bachelor's degree in Life Science; US work authorization; and the ability to work independently and in a team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Life Science (Biology or Microbiology preferred).
• Authorization to work in the United States without restriction or sponsorship.
• Laboratory experience is a plus.
• Experience with spore traps, microscopy or culture-based microbiology is a plus.
• Ability to use phase contrast and light microscopes, analytical balances, biosafety cabinets, filtration manifolds; sterile technique.
• Ability to distinguish colors for analysis.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; self-motivated and adaptable.
• Good time management and multi-tasking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze microbiological samples (air, water, bulk) for fungi and bacteria.
• Use classical and advanced methods for microbial and bio-aerosol analysis.
• Generate analytical reports and enter data into the LIMS.
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Perform quality control per QA/QC manual.
• Administrative duties including sample login, data entry, scanning and emailing reports, answering phones.
• Other duties as deemed necessary by the manager.
