Job summary

EMSL Analytical, Inc. in Meriden, CT is seeking a Laboratory Analyst (Microbiology) to join our team. No laboratory experience is required, as on-the-job training will be provided to learn standard laboratory practices and procedures.

The role is full-time and offers training to perform microbiological analyses of samples. Responsibilities include preparing and analyzing samples, generating reports, maintaining equipment, and performing quality control per our QA/QC manual.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Life Science is required; preferably Biology or Microbiology.
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely and without sponsorship.
• Laboratory experience is a plus; not required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and analyze microbiological samples (air, water, bulk materials) for fungi and bacteria.
• Apply classical and advanced methods for microbial and bio-aerosol analysis.
• Generate analytical reports and enter data into the LIMS system.
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
• Perform quality control per QA/QC manual.
• Handle administrative duties including sample login, data entry, and report distribution.

EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Analyst (Microbiology) in Meriden, CT. No laboratory experience is required, just a desire to learn technical skills and become proficient in common laboratory practices and procedures. On-the-job training will be provided for all new employees.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Preparation and analysis of Microbiological samples (air, water, and bulk materials) for fungi and bacteria
• Classical and advanced methods for microbial and bio-aerosol analysis
• Generate analytical reports and enter data into the LIMS system
• Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
• Perform quality control practices per company Quality Assurance/Quality Control manual
• Administrative duties including sample login and data entry, scanning and emailing reports and answering phones
• Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager

QualificationsRequirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Life Science is required, preferably in Biology or Microbiology
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely and without restriction or sponsorship
• Laboratory experience either in academic or commercial setting is a plus
• Experience with spore traps, direct microscopic exam, other culture-based microbiology, bacteriology, or mycology is a plus
• Ability to work with phase contrast and light microscopes, analytical balances, biological safety cabinets, filtration manifolds, and adhere to sterile techniques and good lab practices
• Ability to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis
• Ability to work independently, and as a part of a team, self-motivated, adaptability, and a positive attitude
• Effective time management organizational skills, and ability to multi- task and prioritize with minimal assistance

Available shift:

Positions is full-time time Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
