Job summary

EMSL Analytical, Inc. is seeking a full-time microbiology technician in Sparta, NJ. You will perform microbiological analysis on customer products and test cosmetics, personal care, pharma, food, water, and environmental samples.

The role includes environmental sampling, media prep, and equipment maintenance, with a Monday–Friday training shift before the Tue–Sat schedule. Qualifications include a Life Science degree and US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Life Science (Biology or Microbiology preferred).
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
• Laboratory experience in academic or commercial setting is a plus.
• Excellent oral, written, and technical communication.
• Math aptitude and reading skills.
• Physical requirements include lifting up to 50lbs, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; self-motivated and adaptable.
• Effective time management, prioritization with minimal supervision.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Perform environmental sampling, make media, autoclave and HEPA filter and other validations as needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance on applicable laboratory equipment.
• Lift and carry laboratory equipment, petri dishes, laboratory soft goods, samples and other materials throughout work areas as needed.
• Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological analysis of customer products as assigned
• Perform microbiological testing of: cosmetics, personal care, and pharmaceutical products, food and beverages, water and environmental samples, sterile medical devices, and other related products
• Perform environmental sampling, make media, autoclave and HEPA filter and other validations as needed
• Perform preventive maintenance on applicable laboratory equipment
• Lift and carry laboratory equipment, petri dishes, laboratory soft goods, samples and other materials throughout work areas as needed
• Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager

Available Shift

Position is full-time Tuesday to Saturday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Training shift to start will be Monday to Friday 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
