Job summary

Huntsman Cancer Institute is seeking a Laboratory Aide I to perform non-technical lab tasks such as preparing culture media, simple stains, solutions, and reagents. You will assist in managing and repairing laboratory equipment and maintain supplies and instruments.

This entry-level position in the Support track offers close supervision while you gain experience; the department may hire at various levels with corresponding pay rates based on budget and business need.

Qualifications

• EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT : 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor’s degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).
• Laboratory Aide I requires little to no related experience.
• Entry-Level position in the Support track.

Responsibilities

• Perform non-technical laboratory functions to assist laboratory personnel, such as preparing culture media, simple stains, solutions and reagents.
• Assist in managing and repairing laboratory equipment and maintain equipment by ordering, stocking, sterilizing, and organizing supplies and instruments.
