Job summary

Huntsman Cancer Institute on the University of Utah campus is seeking Laboratory Technician, II to perform tests, prepare samples, and follow SOPs and GLPs.

You will work under supervision to ensure equipment is clean and calibrated, supporting research and clinical testing as part of the laboratory services team. Equivalency and experience expectations apply. This is a full-time position on campus in Salt Lake City.

Qualifications

  • Equivalency: 1 year of higher education can substitute for 1 year of related work experience.
  • Requires at least 1 year of related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform laboratory tests, experiments, and analyses.
  • Prepare and weigh samples for testing and analysis.
  • Conduct tests, assays, and other protocols under supervision of a supervisor.
  • Follow SOPs and GLPs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Keep equipment and work areas clean, sterile, and in proper working order.
  • May calibrate instruments as needed.

May be responsible for calibration of instruments.

This is an Intermediate Level position in the Support track.

Minimum Qualifications

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher education can be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience (Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related work experience).

Department may hire employee at one of the following job levels: Laboratory Technician, II: Requires at least 1 year of related experience.
