Job summary

BNSF Railway invites students to join the Labor Relations internship in Fort Worth, TX, blending office work with remote collaboration. You will work on real-life assignments, supporting negotiations and grievance procedures while exploring a potential full-time trainee path after graduation.

Successful interns may transition to Management Trainees and gain exposure to collective bargaining, arbitration research, and cross-functional teamwork with Operations and labor leaders.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States and at least 18 years old at hire.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Graduate degree in Labor Relations, Labor Studies, Employment Relations, Business, Management, Legal Studies, Industrial Relations, Human Resources, or similar.
• Maintain at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA.
• Less than three years of professional work experience (excluding internships/part-time).
• Access to reliable transportation to the internship location.

Responsibilities

• Support ongoing projects while shadowing Labor Relations officers.
• Research agreements and arbitration decisions to support interpretation of collective bargaining agreements.
• Assist in resolving labor disputes through grievance procedures and writing letters/briefs.
• Provide support for labor claims conferences and assist in local labor agreement negotiations.
• Build relationships with internal Operations teams and rail union leaders.
• Engage with a heavily unionized workforce to improve employee engagement.
