BNSF Railway is offering a Summer Intern position in the Human Resources Management Department in Fort Worth, TX. Interns gain hands-on experience across HR functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, and organizational development.

The program includes pro­fessional development workshops, mentorship from HR leaders, and networking with senior leaders to prepare for a potential full-time Management Trainee role after graduation.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business, OR a similar degree program.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Maintain at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA.
• Have less than three years of professional work experience (excluding internships/part-time).

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in projects that influence business decisions and the organization’s future.
• Partner with HR teams to share insights and present proposals to team leaders and Sr HR leaders.
• Participate in hiring, performance management, and talent development activities to gain exposure to HR processes.
• Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, clear communication, adaptability, and resilience to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
• Daily work is conducted in an indoor office environment.

As a Summer Intern for the Human Resources Management Department at BNSF Railway, you will delve into the complexities of HR in a leading transportation company. Interns will gain hands‑on experience across various HR/Medical functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, and organizational development, contributing to strategic HR initiatives. This enables our team to meet customer expectations with efficiency and safety. The program offers professional development workshops and mentorship from HR leaders, enhancing interns' HR skills and industry knowledge. This immersive experience prepares interns for a successful career in HR, aligning their growth with the operational excellence of BNSF. Successful Interns may be hired as full‑time Management Trainees upon graduation.

Travel is minimal, must have reliable transportation to and from work.

Relocation is required if located more than 50 miles from the location.

Training will start with a two‑day orientation in Fort Worth, Texas, offering a company overview and networking with leaders. This will be followed by support on ongoing projects and practical training with the department.

Basic Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States and will be at least eighteen (18) years old upon hire.
• Does not require BNSF’s assistance, now or in the future, (whether monetary, through sponsorship, or otherwise) to obtain, maintain, or extend employment authorization (including H-1B, STEM OPT/CPT, or TN nonimmigrant status).
• Pursuing a Bachelors or Graduate degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology, Business, OR a similar degree program from an accredited university.
• Have and will maintain at least a 2.75 cumulative GPA.
• Have LESS THAN three (3) years of professional work experience, EXCLUDING internships, part‑time jobs, or positions held while pursuing my undergraduate and/or graduate degree.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior intern experience or less than 3 years of work experience in Human Resources or a related field.
• Have or have held a leadership position in a campus, community, or extracurricular organization.
• Pursuing a degree in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology.
