Job summary

Jackson Lewis P.C. in Baltimore, MD seeks an experienced labor and employment attorney to handle matters for management clients across the United States.

The role will focus on defending employers in NLRB-related proceedings and advising on union organizing, bargaining, policies, and compliance. The ideal candidate holds a JD from an accredited law school, is admitted to the Maryland Bar, and has strong written and oral communication skills with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an accredited law school; 4+ years of traditional labor law experience preferred.
• MD Bar Admission
• Understanding of current agency enforcement techniques preferred
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Bilingual, English and Spanish, preferred but not required
• May include regular business travel

Responsibilities

• Handling unfair labor practice charges at the NLRB; researching and writing.
• Representing management in NLRB elections.
• Providing legal advice to employers regarding union organizing, corporate campaigns, card check and neutrality agreements.
• Negotiating and/or providing legal advice regarding collective bargaining agreements.
• Handling grievance, arbitration and unfair labor practice proceedings.
• Obtaining mass picketing injunctions.
• Reviewing handbooks, policies and forms for compliance with federal and state law.
• Conducting management training regarding labor relations and Maryland workplace issues, harassment, discrimination and retaliation; other duties as assigned.
