Jobot is seeking an experienced Labor & Employment associate for a full-service Michigan law firm with a storied 160-year history. Compensation ranges from $150,000 to $250,000 per year, with comprehensive benefits and a flexible schedule.

The role emphasizes employment litigation, discovery management, and collaboration with senior partners to manage high-stakes cases across multiple industries. Michigan bar admission or eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years’ experience in employment related litigation and client counseling.
• Excellent research and writing skills.
• Good organizational and project management skills.
• Experience in managing discovery.
• Experience in taking and defending depositions.
• Proficient in online legal research resources including Westlaw.
• Excellent communication skills (oral & written).
• Experience in traditional labor matters a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough and high-quality legal research
• Assist with discovery including drafting requests, responses, disclosures, and witness preparation
• Prepare legal briefs and pleadings
• Collaborate with partner-level attorneys on document production and vendor selection
• Draft responses to EEOC and MDCR charges
• Handle various aspects of employment-related litigation including hearings, mediations, and depositions
• Prepare trial materials
• Attend and assist at pretrial, trial, and post-trial proceedings
