Job summary

Our client, a leading labor & employment law firm in New York, seeks an experienced Labor & Employment Associate to handle sophisticated matters for a diverse client base. Hybrid work in New York, NY with direct client interaction and a collaborative team of seasoned practitioners.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of substantive employment law experience, NY Bar admission in good standing, and a JD from a top-tier law school.

Qualifications

• JD from a top-tier law school with an excellent academic record.
• Active Bar Admission in New York, in good standing.
• 5–7 years of substantive employment law experience, with a strong focus on wage and hour litigation and counseling.
• Experience advising employers on compliance with federal, state and local wage and hour laws.
• Experience handling complex wage and hour matters, including class, collective and representative actions in federal and state courts.
• Experience defending and prosecuting breaches of restrictive covenants.
• Experience preparing and negotiating employment agreements, including executive compensation provisions, strongly preferred.
• Ability to leverage AI-driven and emerging technologies to improve efficiency, enhance client service, and elevate the quality of legal work products.

Responsibilities

• Handle a wide range of labor and employment litigation matters, from inception through resolution.
• Advise employers on complex workplace law issues, including employee relations, compliance, and risk management.
• Draft and negotiate employment agreements, restrictive covenants, and executive compensation provisions.
• Represent clients in disputes involving non-compete and non-solicitation agreements.
• Aptitude to apply AI driven and emerging technologies effectively to enhance efficiency, client service, and legal work product.
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop strategic, practical solutions tailored to client needs.
