Job summary

Employees First Labor Law P.C. (EFLL) seeks an Associate Attorney to manage own caseloads in California wage-and-hour, FEHA discrimination, retaliation, and PAGA/class actions.

You’ll work with senior trial counsel on strategy, motions, depositions, mediation, and trial, handling individual, PAGA and class matters from intake to resolution. You will learn litigation strategy from trial attorney Jonathan LaCour and have opportunities for leadership as the firm grows, with compensation tied to

Qualifications

• Active California Bar member required.
• 3-7+ years of plaintiff-side employment litigation experience.
• Strong writing and research skills.
• Knowledge of Labor Code, FEHA, PAGA, and civil procedure.
• Spanish language bonus point and willingness to take depositions and trials.

Responsibilities

• Manage your own docket of employment cases in California state court and private arbitration.
• Draft pleadings, written discovery, and motion papers.
• Take and defend depositions and prepare clients and witnesses.
• Evaluate case value and draft mediation briefs and settlement demands.
• Prepare cases for trial and second-chair (and eventually first-chair) trials/arbitrations.
• Communicate regularly with clients and keep them informed on their cases.
