Job summary

Fox Rothschild is seeking an experienced employment litigator to join its DC office. The role requires defending single plaintiff matters, handling PAGA and class actions, and managing day-to-day case work independently while collaborating with partners and clients.

Candidates should have strong litigation skills: drafting pleadings, motions, and conducting depositions; managing all phases of litigation from fact discovery through trial preparation; and advising on federal and state employment

Qualifications

• Bar admission in DC and CA is required
• Experience defending single plaintiff matters incl. discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage/hour, accomm.
• Experience managing PAGA matters; preferred class/representative actions
• Ability to independently manage day-to-day case work while collaborating with partners, associates, and clients
• Litigation experience: drafting/responding to initial pleadings & discovery, drafting/arguing motions, conducting depositions
• Experience managing matters through all phases: discovery, motions, mediation, trial prep
• Preferred employment counseling on federal and state laws and regs
• Trial experience is a plus but not required
• Firm expects attorneys in-office about three days a week

Overview

• Must be licensed to practice law in the state where the office resides in addition to the State of California.
• Experience in defending against single plaintiff litigation matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and reasonable accommodation, is required.
• Experience managing PAGA matters is required, with preferred experience in managing class and representative actions.
• Ability to independently manage day-to-day case responsibilities while effectively collaborating with partners, associates, and clients.
• Required litigation experience includes drafting and responding to initial pleadings and discovery, drafting and arguing dispositive and discovery motions, and conducting and defending plaintiff and corporate witness depositions.
• Experience managing matters through all phases of litigation, including fact discovery, motion practice, mediation, and trial preparation, is necessary.
• Preferred experience includes providing employment counseling on federal and state employment laws and regulations.
• Trial experience is considered a plus but is not required.
• The firm generally expects attorneys to work in the office an average of three days a week.
