Our client, a global Am Law 100 law firm, is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate with 4–7 years of experience to join its New York office. This position sits within the firm's Labor & Employment practice group and focuses on employment-related litigation, client counseling, and compliance matters.
The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling employment discrimination, whistleblower, wage and hour, trade secret, and restrictive covenant matters. Candidates should also have significant experience advising clients on employment-related counseling and compliance issues, along with strong writing, communication, and analytical skills.
Responsibilities:
- Represent clients in labor and employment-related litigation matters.
- Handle employment discrimination, whistleblower, wage and hour, trade secret, and restrictive covenant disputes.
- Advise clients on employment-related counseling, compliance, and risk management matters.
- Conduct legal research and develop case strategies based on complex legal and factual issues.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, briefs, and other litigation documents.
- Assist with discovery, depositions, and trial preparation.
- Analyze employment-related laws, regulations, and contractual obligations.
- Work collaboratively with attorneys and clients to develop practical, solutions-oriented strategies.
- Manage multiple matters, deadlines, and responsibilities in a fast-paced legal environment.
- Provide exceptional client service while maintaining a high standard of professionalism and legal work product.
Qualifications:
- 4–7 years of labor and employment-related litigation experience.
- Significant experience with employment discrimination, whistleblower, wage and hour, trade secret, and restrictive covenant matters.
- Substantial experience with client counseling and employment compliance matters.
- Experience at a nationally or regionally recognized law firm preferred.
- Active admission to the New York State Bar and in good standing.
- Distinguished academic achievement.
- Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic and commitment to excellence in professional skills and client service.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a sophisticated, collaborative legal environment.
- Competitive BigLaw compensation of $295,000–$370,000, depending on relevant years of experience.
