Job summary

LJW Solutions, a leading national law firm with a New York office, is seeking a Mid-Level Labor & Employment Associate to join its growing employer-side practice.

You will advise employers on discrimination, wage-and-hour disputes, class and collective actions, restrictive covenants, trade secrets, and wrongful termination, drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, and working directly with partners and national clients to shape strategy.

Qualifications

• JD from an accredited U.S. law school.
• 3–5 years of substantive Labor & Employment experience.
• Active New York Bar admission.
• Employer-side experience preferred; strong writing and research skills.
• Experience drafting substantive motions and briefs; familiar with wage-and-hour/workplace disputes.

Responsibilities

• Advise and represent employers in employment litigation, wage-and-hour disputes, class and collective actions.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and dispositive briefs; manage written and electronic discovery.
• Take and defend depositions; prepare matters for hearings, arbitration, and trial.
• Provide practical employment counseling and direct client interaction with HR and in-house counsel.
• Advise on litigation strategy and coordinate with national clients and partners.

A leading national law firm is seeking a Mid-Level Labor & Employment Associate to join its New York office.

The successful attorney will join an established employer-side practice representing businesses across sophisticated employment litigation, wage-and-hour disputes, class and collective actions, restrictive covenant matters and workplace issues.

This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with a solid employment litigation foundation who is looking to take greater ownership of matters while working directly with experienced partners and national clients.

The Role

The attorney will advise and represent employers across matters including:

• Employment discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims.
• Wage-and-hour disputes.
• Class and collective actions.
• Restrictive covenant and non-compete matters.
• Trade secret and employee-mobility disputes.
• Wrongful termination and employment-related contract claims.
• Drafting pleadings and substantive motions.
• Managing written and electronic discovery.
• Taking and defending depositions.
• Preparing matters for hearings, arbitration and trial.
• Representing employers before administrative agencies.
• Advising clients on litigation strategy.
• Providing practical employment counseling.
• Working directly with HR teams, management and in-house counsel.

The Candidate

Candidates should have:

• 3–5 years of substantive Labor & Employment experience.
• Employer-side experience strongly preferred.
• Experience drafting substantive motions and briefs.
• Exposure to wage-and-hour or class/collective actions would be advantageous.
• Strong legal research and writing skills.
• Ability to manage matters with increasing independence.
• A JD from an accredited US law school.
• Active New York Bar admission.
