The role involves proactive employee relations, conducting investigations, assisting in collective bargaining, and helping draft responses to grievances while managing unemployment compensation for multiple departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources management/personnel administration or related field.
• Two years related experience.
• Must be able to apply this knowledge to practical work situations through effective human relations skills.
• Or equivalent combinations of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert advice to directors, managers, and employees across BOCC departments on personnel matters, policy application, and interpretation of collective bargaining agreements.
• Conduct investigations into potential violations of policies and collective bargaining agreement provisions.
• Assist in all aspects of collective bargaining, including costed labor contracts and finalizing agreements.
• Draft responses to grievances and prepare for hearings, mediations, and arbitrations; update grievance status and outcomes.
• Manage unemployment compensation for BOCC departments and other Appointing Authorities.
