Saint Mary of Nazareth Hospital in Chicago, IL is seeking a Unit Secretary for the Labor & Delivery team. This full-time night shift (7p–7a, 12-hour shifts) role supports nursing staff by transcribing orders, preparing patient records, and coordinating communications within the department.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic dysrhythmia training, medical terminology knowledge, and a current BLS certification; computer skills preferred to manage documentation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Basic dysrhythmia training on hire and maintained.
• Proficiency in medical terminology and computer use is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transcribes physician orders and documents with nursing staff notation.
• Prepares and maintains patient charts and ER records daily.
• Orders supplies for the unit and coordinates necessary forms.
• Assists nursing staff with indirect patient care tasks.
