Job summary

SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital in Missouri is seeking a Unit Secretary for the Ambulatory Care Unit. The role operates on a regular, full-time night shift (7:00 PM–7:30 AM) with every third weekend/holiday rotation, handling phone calls, chart preparation, and medical records coordination to support ED operations.

The position requires basic secretarial skills, familiarity with meditech, and patient-focused service.

Qualifications

• MINIMUM EDUCATION: High school graduate or equivalent. Post high school vocational/specialized training preferred.
• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: One year of secretarial experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews Operating Room Schedule and performs tasks related to schedule.
• Enters patient charges and orders through meditech computer system.
• Assembles blank packets for locals, outpatients and same day admits.
• Acts as a receptionist for the nursing unit and provides prompt, courteous service.
• Answers phone within 5 rings identifying self, title and nursing unit.
