Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in San Marcos, CA, seeks a Surgical Technologist to join the operating room team under close supervision. You will assist during surgery, prepare the OR, pass instruments, maintain aseptic conditions, and support patient care during and after procedures.

Responsibilities include draping, tissue retraction, hemostasis, counts, suturing prep, and specimen handling. Basic Life Support and CPR are required. 75% hospital coverage noted in notes.

Qualifications

• One (1) year of operating room or military equivalent scrub experience within the last two years.
• Completion of a surgical tech training program is acceptable per job notes.
• Surgical Technologist Certificate within 6 months of hire from NBSTSA or NCT is required or promised.

Responsibilities

• Passes instruments and supplies as directed, maintaining sterile technique.
• Assist in draping the patient and providing proper tissue retraction as directed.
• Assist with hemostasis, suctioning, sponge, needle/sharp and instrument counts.
• Prepare sutures for wound closure and apply surgical dressings as directed.
• Recognize emergencies and respond per established procedures; support specimen handling.
