Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in California is seeking a Surgical Technician to assist the surgical team before, during, and after procedures. You will maintain instruments, prepare equipment, and support sterile technique in the operating room.

Candidates should have at least two years of acute OR experience, High School Diploma or GED, and Basic Life Support certification. Certification in Surgical Technology and experience with multiple specialties are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of current acute Operating Room experience.
• Basic Life Support certification required.

Responsibilities

• Direct, check, review, assign, organize, coordinate and report on work of one or more Surgical Technicians.
• Coordinate equipment setup and instrument sterilization prior to procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning and scrubbing procedures as required.
• Hand instruments to surgeon and assist with maintaining sterile technique during operations.
• Maintain room cleanliness and assist in room turnover and equipment readiness.
• Participate in patient safety initiatives and quality goals.
