Job summary

Lowell General Hospital in Lowell, MA, seeks a Surgical Technologist for Labor & Delivery. This 36-hour-per-week position covers an evening shift (11am–11pm) with every other weekend and holiday rotation.

The role supports the OR team, maintains aseptic technique, and handles instruments, counts, medications, specimens, and patient transport. A sign-on bonus is offered for experienced candidates with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Surgical tech program graduation or military training.
• CST certification required if employed after July 1, 2013.
• 12 months to less than 3 years healthcare experience.
• BLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Functions in OR, maintains aseptic technique during setup and procedure.
• Scrubs on cases, organizes instrumentation for surgeon, participates in counts.
• Prepares instruments, supplies, and equipment for cases.
• Manages intraoperative medications and specimens per policy.
• Assists in positioning, transfer, and room turnover.
• Participates in quality improvement and staff training.
