Job summary

Community Memorial Health System in Ventura is seeking a Labor & Deliver (L&D) Operating Room Technician to maintain sterile fields, support surgical teams, and ensure efficient perioperative flow.

You will enter perioperative data into the electronic record, assist with environment and equipment, and help finalize charges for surgical patients. On-call readiness within 30 minutes is required; prior OR tech experience or certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required.
• 1 year of previous surgical technician experience OR Surgical Tech certification is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Must be able to report to site within 30 minutes if on-call.

Responsibilities

• Maintain L&D operating rooms and create/maintain a sterile field.
• Assist with environment and equipment in L&D.
• Enter perioperative data from the report into the electronic medical record.
• Complete patient charges for surgical patients.

Salary Range: $28.75 - $41.09 per hour DOE

The pay range above represents the lowest possible rate for the position and the highest possible rate. Factors that may be used to determine where newly hired employees will be placed in the pay range include the employee specific skills and qualifications, relevant years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role. Most often, a newly hired employee will be placed below the midpoint of the range. Responsibilities

Position Overview:

The Labor & Deliver (L&D) Operating Room Technician is responsible for maintaining the L&D operating rooms, creating and maintaining a sterile field during surgical procedures, assisting with maintaining the environment and equipment in L&D, entering surgical data from the perioperative report into the electronic record, and completing patient charges for surgical patients.

Qualifications

Required:

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• (1) year of previous surgical technician experience OR Surgical Tech certification
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Basic computer skills
• Must be able to report to site within 30 minutes if on-call

Preferred:

• Operating Room Technician (ORT) Certification
• Previous hospital experience
• Bilingual in English and Spanish
